‘Running From Camera’ Blog Pits Man vs. Timer

Camera timers are useful things, enabling you (in theory) to get a group shot with a bunch of people without having to either leave someone out of the picture or ask some random stranger to hold your digicam. But, timers always seem to go off at the wrong time, just as someone blinks or sneezes, or just before the person who hit the button can get back with the group. Possibly taking inspiration from those problems, one man has found an additional use for this dubious “feature,” and has created a blog dedicated to it.

The blog is called Running From Camera and shows pictures of a mystery man in the Dutch city of Rotterdam doing just what you’d think: running from the camera. He sets the timer for two seconds and then makes a break for it, posting the resulting pictures of his back (and heels) to his blog. The photos themselves are naturally comical, but are also frequently quite interesting, with the mystery man having an apparent eye for scenery in and around the city. The site itself has been running since 2007, and it’s caught on over at flickr, where other people are creating their own versions. With an update to Running From Camera just a few weeks ago, it looks like this guy won’t stop running anytime soon. [From: The Sun]
