SNL’s Weekend Update segment, the unheralded precursor to fake news shows like ‘The Daily Show’ and ‘The Colbert Report,’ has long been the show’s bastion of social commentary, where the Kevin Nealons, Colin Quinns, or Tina Feys of the world could wittily report the week’s news in a series of pithy one-liners. Also a challenge to the iPhone Making phone calls.” We’re just glad we’re not the only ones wandering around the city holding up our iPhones, searching for service like an old man on a beach with a metal detector.
