Video: FEAR 3’s Paxton Fettel kills things with his mind
May 31, 2010
So it looks like the team at Warner Bros is sticking with the live-action ads for F.E.A.R. 3. Apparently it’s just a thing it’s doing, so you’d best get used to it. Anyway, the latest trailer for F.E.A.R.3 is all about telekinetic bad boy, Paxton Fettel. The actual gameplay segments of the trailer show off some of Fettel’s abilities, including telepathic control of enemy soldiers. He can also lift soldiers in the air, making them simple targets for F.E.A.R.’s perennial protagonist, Point Man.
He also glows a really pretty orange. After all, there’s no reason to murder hapless goons without a tiny flair, is there

Opera Mocks Google Chrome Speeding Test, Scandinavian Style
May 31, 2010

The Opera browser gets plenty of attention in the mobile space, and, in the pre-iPhone days, it was the cell phone Web browser of choice for the tech elite. Many iPhone users are opting for the fast, though not flawless, Opera mini over the default Mobile Safari. But in the desktop arena, Opera still lags far behind the major players (Firefox, Chrome and World wide web Explorer). Apparently, the Norwegian company sees an opportunity to capture some mindshare and is directly confronting its competition.

Review: Alpha Protocol
May 30, 2010

I have something of a reputation on staff for being the guy who takes in strays, the one who falls for the games that, while they might have a lot going for them, are in some way flawed. It’s a fair representation and, considering it allows me to enjoy games that others might instantly write off, it’s not something I’m necessarily ashamed of.
Now, thanks to Alpha Protocol, I’ve learned that I have my limits.

Firefox Mobile To Support Auto Login
May 30, 2010

One of the things that we can’t wait to have on our mobile phones is Firefox Mobile, after all, we’re hoping that it bring what it did for desktop browsing to the mobile scene. Aside from the already known features such as geolocation and gesture browsing, it seems that Firefox Mobile will be getting automatic website login as well, via Weave sync. It will handle OpenID, along with the normal username/password login method.

Limited Edition Samsung Messager announced
May 30, 2010

Talk about tattooing your mobile phone, MetroPCS and Samsung unleashed the Samsung Messager r450 designed with SA Studios Global, a multicultural marketing bureau, and artist Mark Machado a.k.a. Mister Cartoon. The Mexican-American tattoo and graffitti artist, based in Los Angeles, has worked with numerous celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Eminem. This time, he’ll have his artwork featured on both the case of the r450 as well as the handset’s preloaded content in the form of exclusive wallpapers, animations, ringtones and if those are not enough downloadable content from MetroPCS’ website. This isn’t merely putting art on a phone - the first ten units will be auctioned off for charity in August, and a portion of the series’ sales revenue will fund community art centers, outreach programmes for at-risk youth and also provide art supplies to local Los Angeles schools.
