Microsoft is currently “investigating” the holdup, urging customers who did not receive a redeem code to contact their retailers’ customer service departments. That’s always a grizzly task. GEDDIT BECAUSE GRIZZLY IS A TYPE OF BEAR AND BANJO IS A BEAR.

Google Brings LIFE Magazine Pic Archives to the Web
November 21, 2008

Google continues its march towards organizing all the world’s information. Just what has it done this time Google worked with LIFE magazine to digitize and distribute LIFE’s enormous archive of photographs, which span over a century and countless cultural, political, scientific sporting, and other historical moments.
Since this was released, we’ve spent far too much time browsing the archives, and we’ve found everything from Hitchcock to Billie Holiday, from ‘The Third Man’ to ‘2001,’ and the historic Lindbergh flight to the Apollo 11 launch. The majority of the pics have titles, descriptions, photographer information, and dates, which makes searching for pics from “World War 2″ and “New York,” for example, surprisingly easy. You can search by decade, by year, and by pretty much any other search term you can think of. Paul Newman Check. Dresden, Germany Got it. Picasso wearing a cow’s head mask Of course!

Neil Young Argues for Electric Car Revolution in Detroit
November 21, 2008
Filed under: Automobile Tech, Celebrities, Green Tech

The award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young is bound and determined to tear down and rebuild the motor in Motor City, according to Autoblog and a piece that the singer wrote for Huffington Post.
Sharing popular concerns about fuel prices and efficiency, Young has been hard at work in current months, trying to develop practical electric automobile conversions. His masthead automobile — a revamped ‘59 Lincoln dubbed Linc Volt — has gotten some media attention of late.
Riding that wave of publicity, Young has penned a piece for the Huffington Post, challenging Detroit auto manufacturers to “make a good deal for the future of America” and to “stop building autos that contribute to global warming now.” Referencing his Linc Volt model and other competitors for the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize, Young vehemently argues that the requisite technology is realistic, if not already available.

November 20, 2008
We’re going out on a limb here and assuming that the Haute Diggity Dog iBone comes jailbroken and ready to rock, or at least that’s the impression we get from checking out that heretofore unseen bevy of icons. Customized for the “tech savvy dog on the go,” this here iPhone chew toy gives dear Fido access to bark / hand-shake training, posture lessons, Washington Huskies sports updates (it’s the Clemson Tigers in all honesty, but work with us here), a mysterious fitness app and a bone application for times when supper just seems too far away. Apple Co-Founder Stars In Kinda Funny Outerwear Webisodes
November 20, 2008

After enjoying a lucrative career after co-founding Apple with Steve Jobs, Steve “The Woz” Wozniak can do whatever he wants. He’s dated Kathy Griffin (to each, their own), played on a Segway polo team, and is now starring in a collection of on the internet ads for a clothing company.
The commercials are for SCOTTEVEST, which designs clothes with numerous pockets and one-of-a-kind features to incorporate gadgets, so it’s no wonder they’d go with someone like Woz. Two of the ‘Woz-i-sodes’ are up now, featuring the corpulent personal man in a ‘Star Wars‘ spoof and fishing video where he uses an iPod nano for a lure.
We’re not sure how many vests or pairs of 14-pocket cargo pants they’ll sell, but more are on their way each week. Check them out here. [Source: Tuaw]
NanoVibronix cleared to market ultrasonic painkiller PainShield MD
November 20, 2008
NanoVibronix’s PainShield MD reminds us (a tiny bit) of DARPA’s wound-healing ultrasound wrap, but its purpose is to halt pain, not bleeding. The pocket-sized device emits ultrasonic waves through a disposable patch that can easily be slapped onto the patient’s skin. The fundamental tech isn’t new, but NanoVibronix is hoping physicians and patients will pick PainShield up because it’s portable and convenient; the patch means medical personnel don’t have to hold or operate anything during treatment. It’s just been cleared by the FDA, so it should reach the market soon-ish.
