Ensemble’s gift to you: Halo Wars units and structures revealed

December 28, 2008

Late last week, the crew at Ensemble left us a present and we didn’t even notice it. The company unlocked every unit and structure in both the UNSC and Covenant field manuals for Halo Wars. If you’re hankerin’ for some Halo Wars, you might want to browse through each field manual. After all, the game is only a few months away, so you might as well start planning your strategies now.

One strange note, we’re not seeing any Brute units for the Covenant. We know they’re in there somewhere though. Upgrades from Elites perhaps

Filed under: News, Xbox Live Arcade, Xbox Live Marketplace, Deals and Bargains

No joke, Castle Crashers patch has released! [update]

December 26, 2008

Filed under: News, Xbox Live Arcade

Update: The Castle Crashers patch has now been released. Original post below.

It’s so very true! The long awaited, long demanded and long delayed online co-op fixing Castle Crashers patch is but a few hours away from being released. Developer The Behemoth just informed the masses via their official forums that the Castle Crashers patch has passed Microsoft certification and will release as a title update later this morning at 5:00AM eastern (2:00AM pacific). We’re speechless!

After chatting with The Behemoth a few weeks back, we were told that the patch was still being worked on and not through Microsoft cert. So, their recent announcement about its release has sort of caught us by surprise. No matter, Castle Crashers patch countdown is GO! Pinch us, we have to be dreaming.

[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

One legendary Legendary demo now on the XBLM

December 26, 2008

Filed under: News, Xbox Live Marketplace

This day, Spark Unlimited figured they’d gift us with a surprising, out of nowhere gift that has left us in the awkward position of not having anything to give back.

The gift, a 748MB Legendary demo that can be downloaded via the Xbox Live Marketplace. And seeing that this demo was sprung on us so suddenly, the only holiday gift we can give in return would be our actual downloading of the demo. So, that’ll have to do. You’ve been gifted a Legendary demo, now gift back by actually playing it. It’s only right.

CMT: Roy Orbison is ready to rock Rock band

December 25, 2008

Filed under: News, Rock Band 2

According to CMT (an all country, all the time station owned by MTV), country singer Roy Orbison will be bringing more country music to the Rock Band DLC library. CMT announced Orbison’s Rock Band DLC plans on their latest episode of Top 20 Countdown, revealing that a “Roy Orbison Pack” (presumably, three songs) will be releasing in the future.

Sounds like hardcore rock rockers will have to learn to embrace their new country DLC Gods, because country tracks are here to stay.
